Games dads come up with

So on my birthday we went to my moms for dinner, Rob was watching Olivia on the floor for awhile while I was in with my mom. I came into the living room and this is what I found...

Not only is Rob super smart but EXTRERMLY creative he had her busy...

Olivia would take one ring from the ocouch pass it to her other hand then drop it on the floor and reach for the next one... In the mean time Rob would replace the dropped ring and the game was never ending. Each time she pulled one out she would get really happy.

TEETH

Yes they have arrived. Olivia broke her first tooth on her dads birthday and the second one is probably going to be in by morning... She like always was fine during it the worst was she has a runny nose and was a little crabby the day before. However compared to some horror stories I have heard she was easy like always. Thank goodness!

Where's mommy?

So today I am going through some pictures I printed so I can organize them for albums/scrap booking/baby book/frames/etc... I printed about 500 no joke from the past 4 months and I noticed one thing... There are only 3 shots of Olivia and in the whole stack... I could care less about seeing me in the pictures I just got a little sad thinking that later in life Olivia will go through pictures and wonder "where is mommy?" So I am officially making Rob carry his camera with him when we do things just so we have preserved memories of everyone that was there.

Furthermore in the entire stack aside from the Niagara Falls pictures I have ZERO of all of us as a family... First time parenting mistake I guess. So get on the others side of the moment...

Rainbows

So we had a beautiful rainbow I thought I would share...

JUNK MAIL

Junk Mail... Pointless, waste of trees, annoying, mail box filler, job security for mail man, and source of laughter. OK so they all should make sense but the last one. However yesterday Monday our normal junk mail day I received an abnormal amount. Let me explain the source of the junk mail... When I first became pregnant I signed up on EVERY website out there to get coupons, info etc... Anyhow I regret that now because I get tons of JUNK. OK back to the story, Olivia has always loved paper, but this brings a new meaning to her love for it. So we have tons of toys and stuff for Olivia to play with but the second paper is in sight all toys are just dust in the wind. Her favorites are magazines, mainly moms, not dads boring golf stuff. So I usually find her in a corner with the latest issue of Parents and she has it in a million pieces, since she learned to rip about 2 weeks ago. Any way so I opened a mailer with a ton of offers for Disney movies, Dr.Seuss books etc. SO I gave it to Olivia to start ripping then I decided to play along by throwing the mail in the air here is the result...

Girls and their dads

I used to be closer to my father but now I feel like he hardly knows me and I hardly know him. It is sad, I love my dad very much but I do not feel like the daddies girl I once was. This got me to thinking about Olivia and Rob, she LOVES her daddy in the mornings he gets up with her to spend the quality one on one time from 6-7:30ish while I get some much needed rest. Sometimes I can't sleep but I stay in bed so they have their time... Olivia is non stop entertained by daddy he devotes all his attention to her and she is always full of giggles with him. I hope they stay this way and never drift, a daddy's girl is the best in the world.
The two of them washing dishes!

Laundry

Olivia loves clothes, anything about them. Especially clean clothes fresh out of the dryer. We play a little game every time I put all the clean clothes on the bed then I bury her in them. She laughs so hard it is hysterical. I have been meaning to capture this on film but it always slips my mind when I have laundry on the brain to grab the camera. I did manage to get a few still photos with my phone the other day.Rob and I recently purchased a new washer and dryer, front loading thank goodness. The best part about them however is that they stack. We are not fortunate to have a laundry room we have what is more common in a Vegas track home a laundry closet. So by stacking the units we gained a 5x5 laundry room. I am not quite sure what I plan on doing with it yet but for now it stores extra diapers and wipes, since we do not have ANY closet space in our home (another post entirely). Anyways the reason for my rant is that ever since we "Stacked" Olivia has also become obsessed with reaching for the dryer, the top unit, every time she see it. The poor Kidd wants in that thing so bad. She will stare at the clothes going around and around for a very long time. So I always say "no no" but this time she insisted and I caved... Don't worry the door was open and I did not move but I did grab the camera first to make sure I caught the moment on film. She was so happy:

Now I created a VERY bad habit! bOh well she gets giddy every time I put her in it, and your only that little once right!

Hurricane Olivia

So I am starting to understand why people say just wait untill she is mobile you will really be tired then... Olivia is all OVER the place she wants to climb on things, and stand up on anything she is able to pull up on. So right now she is napping and I get a much deserved break??? Yea right aside from the few minutes I am taking to type this blog I have SO much to do, my house is a wreck since Olivia learned to pull her toys out of the ottoman. (Rob's handy storage) and pull everything out she did. Ok I know that takes like 5 minutes to pick up but I still have a ton of cleaning to get done. Since every second is now spent following Olivia around I have not washed my counters, done the dishes and I still have a load of laundry in the dryer I washed 3 days ago, so whoever said nap = break for mommy was CRAZY! I love what I do so I am not complaining just thinking the labor laws should apply to stay at home moms too... 1 hour lunch in a 8 hours day with 2 15 minute breaks, I can only imagine! Honestly though I would spend the whole time thinking about what I have to do when it is over. So off I go to do the maid part of stay at home mom. Maybe I will get a shower and a blow dry in, doubtful.

Here is the after math of Hurricane Olivia as well as the eye of the storm...

Child Care

Until very recently Olivia had only been left with family, mainly her two grandmas that live in Vegas. BUT I need to start working out so I changed my membership at LVAC and began bringing Olivia and she liked it ... At first.... The other day when I took her she was a mess crying so hard. I was slow to leave I hid behind a pillar to see if she would calm down and was shocked to see the treatment she got from the care giver... Lets just say when the kid (Norman) was his name was handed Olivia he rolled his eyes and immediately walked over to a swing plopped her in it screaming mind you and watched as her little Binky fell to the ground walked away and began bouncing one of those balls you get at the grocery store in the huge bin for a dollar... Anyway there were two other babies in that section one must have been maybe 2 months old and the other was Olivia's age (8months) ok to make a long story short, I was FURIOUS to say the least I asked for her back then went to cancel my personal training appointment and asked for a manager, I was going to cancel my membership. I explained the situation to the manager her asked me to go back over to the daycare that he would remove this kidd, and have someone else look after the babies. So reluctantly I left my daughter their and went to meet my trainer, about 25 minutes after I left her I was paged and had to go back... She was so distraught she was practically hyperventilating, I felt horrible... Sat in the car with her for 15 minutes, and cried with her. I will not be leaving her there for a VERY long time... if Ever... I told Rob he was more mad then me but I calmed him down.... My question still is what happened? Were they mean to her after I complained? Or is it that my daughter does not like them or they do not like her, that makes me the most sad... How could someone be mean to a baby, especially one that is ALWAYS so happy!

Pull Ups

Not the training pants but the training stander... Olivia thinks she can pull up on EVERYTHING yesterday she decided to pull up on her swing, unfortunately it was not that sturdy and it swung she fell bumped her head and had her first bruise, but hardly cried. I am beginning to wonder why she barely cries. To see her in action watch the video.

Silly Baby

I was thinking that there are a few moments that I would love to share with everyone. Some are old but some family comes to this site to see the little one so I decided to share them anyway.

video

I had a bib on her but she took it off and I thought it was too cold to go naked so this is what I got, cereal finger paint.

Olivia discovered carpet and I caught it on film.

SLEEP Deprived

Ok so I started this post like 7 days ago... Pathetic...

So 7 days ago when I started this post...

Olivia began night waking as you may or may not know. I am not one for the extinction (LET THEM CRY) method but after trying EVERYTHING and I mean everything I decided ok...

Olivia was waking up every hour, Rob who is awesome and loves to get up with Olivia was not even budging when she woke up last night for the 5th time. I knew something had to be done, I am a wreck, Rob is exhausted both of us need sleep. My mom is going to take the baby tonight, and I can't wait. Is that bad I can't wait to be away from my child who I love so much when the sun is up but am beginning to resent in the middle of the night? I swear it is worse then a newborn. So starting Saturday we are taking the bottle away in the middle of the night. We will see what happens from there.

Fast forward to today almost a whole week later...

Olivia has not had a bottle in the middle of the night for almost a week and for the past three nights has put herself back to sleep. We have not gone in there for anything after 8 or before 5:30. Guess what? It is working she woke only once last night and get this slept until 6:30 today and 7:30 yesterday. I am on cloud 9! I changed my opinion about the extinction method, she is more playful, happier and I am well rested making mommy hood a blast again!

Fetch for Babies

Ok Olivia crawls... I am dealing and dad is TOO excited. He is on a mission to have her crawl after things sorta like fetch for babies. He finds something that intrigues Olivia, and the puts it across the room then tempts her to come and get it. It is funny, here is a video. (sorry for the quality I asked for a camcorder for my 25th b-day so hopefully I am lucky and get one.)
